MUGs jump ship for Maine Maritime Academy training

The Midshipmen Under Guidance in Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta companies braved the cold waters of Castine Harbor on August 26, jumping from the lower deck of the T/S State of Maine, part of their first year regimental training at Maine Maritime Academy. Families and friends lined the academy waterfront to take photos and congratulate their students after not having any contact since dropping them off a week before. Academy President Bill Brennan was the first to jump, while upperclassmen from each company waited on shore for the first year students to make it out of the water. A safety crew was in the water with wet suits in case of emergency.
