We are excited to introduce a slightly new look and some new features and additions to our web site as part of a long term effort by Penobscot Bay Press, your Community Information Service, to enhance and expand our community web site. As always we welcome your comments and suggestions.
New home page for www.penobscotbaypress.com
Now when you visit our Web site, you come directly to our Community News page where you will find news and stories from the entire community along with links to all the community information that you have come to expect from Penobscot Bay Press. We have also added the Community News home page to the navigation bar so you can now get to this page from anywhere on our site.
Archived News
Did you miss last week’s stories in our papers or on the Web? Starting this week, we will be keeping links to two weeks worth of stories on our home pages so you can access the stories when you want them.
New Sharing Features
The internet is about connecting with people. Whether it’s through social media or even a simple e-mail, people are sharing information more than ever. To help with this process, we have implemented a number of changes to our pages to make it easier for you to share them with other people.
- “Share this page” links: At the bottom of each story, we now have a link for you to share the page on many of your favorite social media sites along with links to e-mail and print the page.
- Better Facebook linking: Now when you link to one of our stories on Facebook, you will get the headline and the correct image without any extra work on your part.
- Long-term page links: Worried that the story you linked to won’t be available when the person you shared it with gets to it? We have made changes to the way stories are saved to ensure that the links you share don’t become dead links.
Re-branded Captain’s Quarters
The Captain’s Quarters has been re-branded Archives & Multimedia to better reflect the content it contains. In this section you will find short-term archives, videos, slideshows and special features.
